bebo is a source of happiness for us for years, we are always excited to visit them
During the pandemic, human lives were profoundly impacted beyond health, affecting the very existence of humanity. Wage earners struggled to meet their families' basic needs of food, clothing, and shelter ("roti, kapda, makaan").
Jayanthi, a member of "Chhoti Si Asha," faced similar challenges during her journey into motherhood. She has a family of six members, comprising her husband (an auto driver), 3 children, and her mother-in-law; all are financially dependent on Jayanthi’s husband's income. While talking to us, she recounted their financial crisis, exacerbated by COVID-19. Her husband was the only breadwinner in the family, and his income stopped when the lockdown happened.
However, a turning point arrived when Liza, the founder of "Chhoti Si Asha," informed her about a bulk order from bebo Technologies for mask production. Under the flagship of bebo Foundation, this opportunity proved to be a blessing in disguise, significantly improving their family's situation.
Jayanthi expressed how receiving orders from the bebo Foundation for their exhibitions became a source of joy and hope, akin to a festival for them. Each time they prepared products for bebo members, it not only boosted their sales but also revitalized their spirits, both online and offline.
By supporting the artisans of Chhoti Si Asha, we are promoting indigenous crafts of embroidery, stitching, weaving, and crochet, helping women rise above the odds of society and supporting their families to grow and develop while having a better living standard where they are able to educate their children and provide them basic resources to build a prosperous future. Other than this, they were able to train 400 women with the support provided.
